Mommy and Daddy Getaway

Sarah Beth wanted to have a sleepover with the kids before she left for school.  So Bryan and I took her up on the opportunity a few weeks ago and went away for the night.  We enjoyed going to Orlando and had a great night out.  We will surely miss Sarah Beth and can't wait til she comes home to visit!  As you can see in my kids faces from the pics she sent us, they love having fun with her.

Day 3

They were still excited to get up and go again…but we are excited the weekend is already here!

Day 2

Great reports yesterday!  They both had fantastic days.  I couldn't be more proud of these sweeties!

I suppose she was trying to wash it off in the sink when I came around the corner.  Her comment was "it won't come off mommy!" Yes honey I am well aware that it won't!!  Thank goodness for Dawn dish soap.  Stinker! Stinker! Stinker!  

First Day of School 2014

Here's to Huntley's first day in Kindergarten and Heagan's first day in VPK!

Huntley starts nearly an hour earlier this year, so he was the first to get up.  Heagan was just waking up when he was about to leave.  Daddy is taking him to school this year and I will stay with the girls and then drop Heagan off.  Hatton and I get to spend our mornings together til we go to pick Heagan up.  We were all smiles this morning.  Can't wait to hear all about it!

The Night Before the First Day

After my babies went to sleep on Tuesday, I went in and prayed over each of them.  I prayed for their teachers, I prayed for their friends, I prayed for their school, and I prayed for them.  I have actually been excited for this school year to start.  We are ready for some structure and routine.  Kindergarten is a big deal.  Huntley has been so excited, I have only been able to feed off of his excitement.  However, it also will be a big change for our family.  He will be gone a full day instead of a half day.  I am not sad for whats ahead but sad for what's already behind.  This is a new chapter.  I know there are many many more exciting chapters, but it makes you wonder, have I made the most of it?  Because he is no longer a toddler at home all day.  It seems it has all gone too quickly.  I sat in tears that evening hoping and praying I have made them proud as their mom.  Did I do the best I could for the years I have had them all to myself?  Have they seen Jesus in me?  Will they ever know just how much I truly love them and care?  I just want to be the mom God wants me to be to them.  I fall short everyday, I know I do.  That is why I am so thankful for God's merciful grace and forgiveness.  Thank you Father your mercies are new each morning!  So as I send them out into this world I pray they are prepared and I simply pray this prayer over and over again each day…...

VPK Orientation

Sunday was Heagan's VPK orientation.  She will have Mrs. Norris this year.  I was worried she would be sad that Huntley would not be at the same school, but since Charlotte Grace is starting in the 3 year old class she was just fine.  I think she feels like such a big girl being in the big class.  She enjoyed going in her classroom and finding her name.  She didn't want her picture with Mrs. Norris, but is excited about this year!

Kindergarten Orientation

Huntley has been so excited to go to Kindergarten.  Tonight we were able to go see his classroom and meet his teacher Mrs. Prescott.  We look forward to this school year and all the fun he will have!

School Physicals

The kids have all 3 had their physicals.  Huntley went on a day without the girls.  He only had to have his finger pricked and didn't even shed a tear.  He weighed in at 45 lbs.  I took the girls a few days later.  Heagan had 3 shots and a finger prick….not one tear.  She weighed in at 36 lbs.  Hatton had 1 shot and her finger prick and she took right after her big brother and sister and didn't cry either.  She weighed in at 30 lbs.  Healthy kids are not something we take for granted. We are so thankful for their good health reports.  Bring this school year on!

SK Day 5

Saturday was Bryan's race.  I woke up and walked to the road so I could see him go by a few times on the bike.  The kids were all sleeping but our front door was close enough to the road that I could watch Bryan while they slept a bit.  After his bike, I went and woke them so we could head down to the beach to watch him run.  Since he does the olympic distance he does everything twice, so we are able to see him a lot.  The kids ate some breakfast on the beach and offered daddy water when he would come by.  Hatton was so upset when she filled an empty water bottle with salt water for daddy and by the time she finished he was already gone.  I'm pretty sure daddy wouldn't have wanted to chug that down anyways.  Bless her heart, she tried.  I didn't take time to put their suits on so they swam a bit in their panties and clothes.  Daddy did awesome and came in first in his division, which is a very hard group.  We were so very proud of him.  Afterwards, we spent a little time at the beach and pool.  Daddy picked Hooter's for lunch and the kids enjoyed making glasses with the little sticks they gave us.  That afternoon we beached it a little more and then had dinner at the condo.  Daddy took us for an ice cream treat later on and we saw a gorgeous rainbow.   Time to pack up and head home tomorrow!
